CNC Turning is a cutting process that uses a milling cutter to remove material from the surface of a workpiece, which is a highly efficient machining method. When the tool rotates (as the main motion) and the workpiece moves (for the feed motion), the workpiece can also be fixed, but the rotating tool must also move (simultaneously complete the main motion and the feed motion). CNC milling is typically carried out on a milling or boring machine and is suitable for machining planes, grooves, various forming surfaces (such as splines, gears and threads) and special shapes of the mould.
